Construction projects face several challenges in Quetta. To trace those challenges, this study investigated the leading causes of these delays in construction projects. The study used a quantitative research method to gather data from the relevant stakeholders, mainly clients, contractors, and consultants, using a standardized questionnaire. Similarly, each component’s relative importance index (RII) was used to scale the data’s significance on a scale of 1 to 4. The paper assesses the leading causes of delays and offers solutions to prevent construction delays using the statistical analysis approach. The study’s findings presented several factors related to the delay in construction projects. These factors were related to management, client, consultant, financial, labor and equipment, and external factors. As a consequence of this research, effective tactics could be used to encourage the timely and efficient completion of construction projects, which could exert immense support to the development of Pakistan’s economy and infrastructure in general and infrastructural progress of Quetta City in particular.
