Technology-Enhanced teaching Pedagogy and Its Impact on Classroom Discipline, Student Motivation, and Learning Achievement

Abstract

Background: Schools around the world, including in Pakistan, are rapidly bringing technology into the classroom. However, simply having technology is not enough; we need to understand how it actually affects students' behavior, interest, and grades.

Purpose: This study explored how Technology-Enhanced Teaching Pedagogy (using digital tools effectively in teaching) impacts three key areas: classroom discipline, student motivation, and learning achievement. Method: The research was conducted in Islamabad, Pakistan. We surveyed 350 teachers from both public and private secondary schools using a structured questionnaire.

Results: The findings showed that when teachers use technology effectively, it has a highly positive impact. It is the biggest driver of student motivation (explaining 46% of the improvement), significantly boosts learning achievement and test scores (35%), and surprisingly, helps improve classroom discipline (20%) by keeping students actively engaged and reducing off-task behavior.

Conclusion: Technology is a powerful educational tool, but its success depends on how teachers use it. When digital tools are used to make lessons interactive and engaging, they create a more motivated, disciplined, and successful learning environment.
